A new report finds millions of young workers facing both joblessness and a lack of health insurance. Jesse Russell reports.

Young adults already facing a tough job market as they leave college are also having to contend with another issue – a lack of health insurance. A new report from the Commonwealth Fund found that 13.7 million of the uninsured are under the age of 30. However, the New York Times reported on the study this week and wrote that 1.2 million who fell off their parents’ health insurance plans will soon be covered again. Starting in September health insurers will be required to cover through family health plans until the age of 25. The report goes on to say that seven million young adults will be able to receive Medicaid starting in 2014 while another 5.6 million could be eligible for subsides provided by the government.
