Who can forget the profound deliberation that preceeded Bush's decision to invade Iraq?
On 9-11, he announced, "I don't care what the international lawyers say, we are going to
kick some ass." And, in March 2002, a full year before invading Iraq, his decision was,
"Fuck Saddam. We're taking him out!"

A Vatican official said Thursday that executing Saddam would punish "a crime
with another crime."

Pope Benedict XVI's top prelate for justice issues acknowledged Saddam's crimes
but said capital punishment goes against church teachings.

Richard Dicker of Human Rights Watch said, "The true test of respect for human
rights comes when the human rights of someone who has violated in unspeakable
ways the human rights of many millions of people comes into play."

Dicker said putting Saddam in prison for life would be a "much smarter step for
the Iraqi government."
