Why is Privatized Social Security bad?
Advertisements [?]
I am a young democrat but I seriously wonder why privatized SS is bad. I would much rather take the money I pay into SS and invest it in a compound interest account. They say that someone my age will not have any SS when we get older anyway. I am hearing candidates talk about this and seriously wondering why it is bad. I still pay plenty of Fed and State taxes to help society/roads/soldiers and whatnot. My dad just retired and he has always been self employed and still owns property and the Social Security Office awarded him for all of his hard work and paying taxes by telling him that if his income changes in the next 5 years they will have to investigate him for fraud against social security - I guess that is standard for those that start on SS and still make an income. For the money he has paid in he is getting jack crap back. I dont want this to happen to me.
