Let Us Assess Bush's Record On US Security
Advertisements [?]
George Bush proclaims himself the source of our security. But what has he done in 6 long years to maintain or increase our security? How has he used his near unprecedented support in getting what he wanted from Congress to make us safer?

Within the first year of his Presidency the nation suffered an attack to equal Pearl Harbor. Though the Administration's response has been monstrously expensive no one believes it could not happen again at any time with out warning.

At the beginning of his Presidency terrorists world-wide who were intent on and capable of attacking the US numbered in the hundreds. Today that number would count in the tens of thousands.

The spring of 2001 the United States was respected internationally for both our military might and our rational use of diplomacy, both directed by a presumed moral authority. The world knew what America stood for and it was not torture, secrete prisons, unwarranted war, and assault on the rule of law, or the imposition of Christian theology on every man, woman, and child on the face of the planet.

Economic plunder?

In January of 2001 the Bush Administration inherited a world in which nuclear weapons had become less of a menace than at any time in the proceeding 50 years. The arm's race with the Soviet Union had ended; South Africa had abandoned its nuclear capability and dismantled its program. A scant term and a half later a new nuclear nightmare visits us with the Korean test; an honest declared enemy fully armed. In the distant east the rumble of atomic thunder can be heard in Iran.

So tell me, what has Bush done for our Security?
