Even Though "Control" Of Congress Is Important

I think it's going to be a losing battle keeping "control" of things, even if by some chance the Dems take control by a slim margin in either house.

I mean take every single major bill as an example. There are ALWAYS 20-30 so-called Dems who vote side by side with the house repubs. And ALWAYS 5 or so Senators who vote with the repubs. Now and then a token repub like Chafee will cross over, just to make the Dems think they're respectible.

So even if we get the control in the Senate, which would still have lots of benefits, I can't see how they'll win any bills on a consistent basis, with guys like the Nelsons or Lieberman crossing over with their repub buddies on the other side.

With friends like these, who needs enemies. Don't be shocked if one of them converts, and snatches the control right out from under the Dems.

But I shouldn't say things like that, because they're outside the rhelm of possibility, especially for some cheerleaders here at DU.

Rah Rah Rah! Go Team!
