I honestly thought if I could talk to a Bush supporter, calmly and rationally, I could understand why they support him but there is no rational thought there. It's like being against gay marriage because it will destroy all marriages. Where do they get that? It makes no sense. (Another interesting read is a book (forgot name, I'll go find it if anyone is interested) about gay marriage. What was odd was how the argument against gay marriage changed every few years. It was because the argument completely fell apart on examination. As does the "destroy all marriages" argument. But if you ask someone who is against gay marriage how it will destroy their marriage, they can't answer. It's about religion and the GOP has become a wholly owned subsidiary of the Christian Right. Or vice versa. Not sure which.)
