Some people DON'T know they're being dumb, misinformed and wrongly loyal about Bush and never will. But most people could face up to even the possibility of it if they had enough self-esteem. I guess they have to have a clarifying "hit bottom" moment first, like the alcoholic who raided his kid's piggy bank for booze money, or the gambler who stole his parents' vacation savings to take to Las Vegas. Fortunately, both "saw" they were doing, put the money back, and went for help.

It's no different from trying to free yourself from any other kind of addictive or abusive relationship.
