As you know Bush states that he stopped drinking after his 40th birthday party, after Laura gave him an ultimatum.

No one talks much about what happened at the party to cause the ultimatum. Some accounts describe that Bush come on sexually to an older woman, a long time family friend in a very vulgar way. (I could never find the specifics of the sexual behavior. But when we consider what he does when allegedly sober, one can only imagine.)

It was finally the last straw for Pickles.
