If Blair is ousted, then the U.S. will basically be going it alone in Iraq. There will be increased pressure on us to make an effective solution, to force the Iraqi government to become self-reliant and the security forces to be battle-ready. With elections just a few months away here in the states, things could move quite fast if this were to happen.

I don't know definitively if they have the votes to throw him out, but things will be clearer by next month hopefully.
