Reply #110: Just got back from an Oregon Coast trip.

Brookings is a bit different than the rest of Oregon coast. As you get further south, of say.. Florence, it looks more California coastish. Brookings may be part of the "banana belt" on the coast, with less rain. The Oregon coast is the prettiest coast on the west coast, hands down. And I've been from San Diego up to B.C. on the coast. Winters are rugged on most of the oregon coast, but the southern end has a few odd spots with little rain. Many places are very artsy. Brookings, I think , is a big retirement area. Some places, like Coos Bay are very conservative, lots of logging industry workers and former workers. I love Yachats above Florence.
