4. If Ever There Was A Land Of Divide It's In A Place Once
known as Paradise, the place so many people have always wanted to come to visit or move to.

So let me tell you that I, as one who has lived here for many many years, and whose husband is a native (an oddity) know full well of what he speaks. I've commented many times that those of us who live here in this county are the "three strikes, you're out District" of Cruella the Witch herself.

And the 3-strikes we have had to live with for 6 years are The Idiot in D.C. his criminal cohort of a brother in Tallahassee, and then of course our own little Darlin... Katherine "Cruella" Harris! I can tell you it doesn't take much these days to simply want to retaliate in some way. My level of frustration has grown by leaps and bounds and days of depression are all too common!

I frequently post that "we the people" need to rise up and take back our country because having to live through this nightmare hits you square in the face every day! Up until the last year, political activism for me has been almost non-existant. To know that you will be defeated before you even begin is a realization that is overwhelming. I hear all too often, get involved locally, and I have but activism here is a lonely adventure. Too many times I've gone to meetings only to come away with the feeling of a deflated balloon. It's not that there aren't Democrats here, it's just that most of them feel the same dispair as I do. All too often I say "let's do something" knock on doors, come help me put up posters just "do something" but I have yet to get ONE person who has been willing to do this. I take that back, my daughter has helped me 2 times and we were "the only army" out there. There has been more going on, some Democrats have ventured out and we do out little things, but that's only started this past year. Where many places have thousands and thousands at a rally... we have maybe 200 tops! And that was only once so far. I volunteered to get people to sign petitions for a paper ballot, but we we HAD to say it was NON-PARTISAN or we would be reported. I'm sure most KNEW it wasn't non-partisan, but we couldn't even answer any questions on ANYTHING if we were asked! That was weird! It was also DIFFICULT!

Last week I went to a meeting and there were 45 people there, and I was completely shocked as were most of the others. This is not normal here. Do I have hope.... not really, but I do wish a lot. Maybe THIS time we will make some noise together. I doubt we will elect ANY Democrats but it was nice seeing that many of "us" in one room at the same time. Re-generated by that meeting I stay committed to ridding America of this scourge, but how I long for some real, down and out, let's go get 'em ACTIVISM!
