Control the masses and working class with the opiate of religion while taking away their value and giving it to the elite rich.
The rich have money, the poor have the religious monkey on their back. I've never seen a religious icon who wasn't rich and led the easy life and enjoyed commercialism to its fullest.

Mother Theresa is the lone exception. She chose to center her life on service to the poor. She lived amongst them.
