I think reading a bit about and by Russell would help a lot of DEM stratigists. The man knew how to address his audience. There are good lessons in Russell.

Plus, ol Charlie was just good for the soul!

From Charlie Russell's 1914 Christmas card:

Best wishes for your Christmas
Is all you get from me,
'Cause I aint no Santa Claus--
Don't own no Christmas tree.

But if wishes was health and money,
I'd fill your buck-skin poke,
Your doctor would go hungry
An' you never would be broke.
