The difference in wages between the US and Mexico. Differences in wages between the US and Canada are hardly an issue - if anything i'd expect illegal migration of Americans to Canada rather then the other way around.
It's the low wages in Mexico that make it worthwhile for Mexicans to take the risks that come with illegal entry in the US.
Those low wages are in part a result of regulations imposed by means of International "Free Trade" Agreements. Corporations pretty much own the government(s), corporations come up with these trade agreements, and corporations just love cheap labor.
