I was at a New York City Council meeting years ago when they were debating a bill that would protect the rights of the carriage horses. It was a very rowdy meeting, open to the public. Alec Baldwin spoke in favor of the bill and on the way out of the room got in a fist fight with one of the carriage horse drivers!
