Wal-Mart opens new Atlanta store
Atlanta Business Chronicle - 9:22 AM EST Wednesday
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has opened its first store inside the Perimeter and donated $1 million to the Washington D.C. Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial Project.

The new Wal-Mart Supercenter is at 2427 Gresham Road near Interstate 20. The store got more than 8,000 job applicants and will employ more than 500 people. The average wage at Wal-Mart for full-time hourly associates in the Atlanta area is $11.11 an hour.

"The fact that 8,000 people applied for jobs here is a testament to DeKalb residents understanding that Wal-Mart provides not only good jobs, but a career with a growing company," said Vernon Jones, CEO of DeKalb County. "This store is the first one inside Atlanta's perimeter and is part of an urban renewal plan in which we are very glad to play an active role."

Cute that they said the avg. wage for f/t is $11.11, but FAILED to mention just how many jobs there are full time! Out of the 500 people, I bet there aren't even 100 f/t!!! It also doesn't mention that f/t at WM is 37 hrs. a week!
