Because that's what the war was really about. Oil is fine and dandy, and no-bid contracts are all well and good, but maintaining power is what it's all about.

Would bush have won in 2004 if the country hadn't been "at war"? Even "midstream," a very narrow minority (not accounting for voter fraud) was desperate to change horses.

Endless Conflict.

Revolving War.

That's what it's all about.

In the first eight months of 2001, the bush administration realized that running a country is "hard work." After 9/11, it became clear just how easy it is to have an enemy.

So now, three years later, nobody buys the bullshit about Iraq anymore. But lo and behold, in time for the midterm elections comes talk about the evils of Iran ...
