I was merely addressing that we have exported millions of manufacturing jobs for cheaper labor, only to turn around to import the same products of a lower quality back into the country to buy at the same previous cost.
Not only have we exported our jobs, we have turned the ports over to the foreign interests that we have exported our jobs to, which accounts for such a larger volume of shipments coming into the country now. Now, it's obvious to see that the more you can produce yourself, the less cargo there will be to inspect coming into the country, which increases your ability to inspect what does come in.
But, the purpose of my post was to inquire about the wholesale dumping of the interests of the American citizens and workers, only to benefit a few connected in the government, large corporate interests, and the wealthy elite.
The security issue on the ports deal is only the tip of the iceberg, and the reason for such a large volume of imports coming into the country is the jagged edge slicing open and spilling the economic interests of American workers and citizens.
