Since there's no info on this firm, I googled Milt Ahlerich, head of NFL security, who decided to hire these unknown security agencies. Here I hit something interesting. Before becoming chief of NFL security, Mr. Ahlerich was the Deputy Assistant Director of the FBI. And while at the FBI, he had another connection w/the NFL.
In 1989, an investigative reporter named Dan Moldea wrote an expose called "Interference: HOw ORganized Crime Influences Football". Moldea alleged that many NFL owners had ties to the mob, that games had been fixed, and that the NFL had supressed any corruption investigations by the FBI or other law enforcement, thanks to a "sweetheart deal" the NFL security had w/law enforcement. Even before it was published, the NFL protested his work. The FBI then opened an investigation, not of NFL corruption, but of Molea himself and his work. Who supervised this investigation? Milt Ahlerich. Moldea alleged that the FBI was trying to sabotage his book as a favor to the NFL. Four years after overseeing the FBI review, Ahlerich was chosen to be the new NFL Chief of Security.
http://www.moldea.com/Six-12.htmlProbably not relevant, but it does suggest that this man might have some agenda. I really do think he just made up that comment about "heading G8 security" & knew the reporter wouldn't bother checking it out. For all we know, the name could even be made up. If I made up a firm called "Epsilon Security," it would probably have as many hits as "Alpha Protection Group". Even a low-key business leaves more evidence of their existence.
