10. The corporate media
is a business that requires the journalists sell a product. At very best, progressive democrats can use the corporate media as a tool, to help us reach a goal. But it is never "our" tool: it does not belong to us, and it can never be counted on to have a loyalty to that which is true ... only to that which sells.

In the 1700s and 1800s in Ireland, when it was illegal for the Irish Catholics to educate their children, they had "hedge schools." These schools ranged from what we would consider a primary school education, to those equal to the best universities.

We need to make use of the "information highway" to form our own modern hedge schools. As Minister Malcolm X used to say, our schools are found when any group of people are putting their heads together, researching, discussing, teaching others, and learning from those same others.

The corporate media is but one form of "text book" in our classroom. Our credentials are our sincerity and our willingness to keep an open mind.
