Watch now - http://www.booktv.org/ram/AfterWords/1206/arc_btv120906_4.ram

In his book, "AK-47: The Weapon That Changed the Face of War," author Larry Kahaner traces the rifle’s role in wars from Vietnam to Iraq. According to the author, no tool has spread so much raw power to so many people in so little time in the history of warfare. Mr. Kahaner discusses the book with Peter Singer, who directs a project on 21st Century warfare for the Brookings Institution. Mr. Singer serves as a guest interviewer and is not an employee of C-SPAN.

Larry Kahaner is the author of eight books, including "Competitive Intelligence," which has been translated into seven languages. He was Washington correspondent for BusinessWeek magazine and also a reporter for Knight-Ridder newspapers. His articles have appeared in the Washington Post, the International Herald Tribune, and the Christian Science Monitor.
