apparently satisfied he didn't and therefore didn't intentionally reveal the identity of a covert agent. Fitz's previously referred to him (Novak's publicly unknown source) in court filings as "the innocent accused." Fitz did not regard him as part of the coordinated WH attack on Wilson and the subsequent coverup. Armitage apparently contacted DOJ investigators and fessed up shortly after the DOJ investigation began in October 2003.

Fitz knew about Armitage from the beginning of his taking over of the investigation. He had the reports of the investigation to date, which also indicated that, unlike Armitage, Libby and Rove were not fully disclosing their involvement in disclosing info the the media, were covering up and lying.

In no way does the buck for the Plame disclosure start or stop with Armitage. That only flies with those who haven't been following the facts of the case or who apparently buy the RW spin and disinfo. See Parry's article, for example: http://baltimorechronicle.com/2006/090506PARRY.shtml

And for those who think Armitage is lying and taking the fall for Libby/Cheney gang, the answer again is no. If anything, it undermines one of Libby's defense strategies. And highlights the difference between Armitage coming forward to the DOJ investigators almost immediately in Oct 2003 and Libby lying repeatedly for years and even now.
