lived in the most liberal places, Northern California, had progressive friends and acquaintances with all sort of diverse ideas, but they were mellow enough to respect each others ideas or debate said ideas in a civilized manner. Had friends who buy at Wal-Mart, I don't--even drove a friend there and sat outside while waiting for her-they know why I don't buy there, but I don't expect them to do what I do. It's free will afterall. Went to college in Northern California, met vegans, environmentalists, political activitists--debated civilly-no problem. Sorry your having problems--so, what's the significance of this thread? I once was vegan, for conscientious reasons (in school), however, never expected others to join, just to understand. Hell, my hubby didn't give up meat. Have truly bohemian friends, mostly, thoughtful and reflective about certain ideas-not extremists.
