Now I completely understand where Bush gets the idea that he was chosen by God. FormerDem06, don't take everything you read literally, even the Bible. If God has already established authority, then why even let human nature come into play by holding elections and possibly electing some idiot (as happened in 2000 and 2004) that we STILL have to follow. If our leaders are elected (or appointed as in 2000) by fallable humans, then where does God's will and authority come into play in this. Would God leave the selection of his divine leaders up to imperfect and fallable leaders (and by this logic, up to pure chance)?? I think not.

I'm glad to hear that you are not advocating it; there's hope for you yet. Try growing a brain stem and thinking rationally instead of literally believing everything in the Bible as dogma; that you are not advocating it is a small step in that direction.
