I have memorized the al-Fatiha for several of my classes on Islam in college, and I have lived in both Lebanon and Morroco in two seperate arabic immersion programs during college.

I don't believe that ALL Islamic folks are bad, as I do have a few friends who are muslim americans and very decent and caring folks. But I do believe that there is a wing of Islam that has corrupted the text of the Qu'ran and the Hadiths further than even I thought possible.

Besides how can one deny this to someone who doesn't think they can live a good enough life to get into heaven?:

"The Prophet Muhammad was heard saying: 'The smallest reward for the people of paradise is an abode where there are 80,000 servants and 72 wives, over which stands a dome decorated with pearls, aquamarine, and ruby, as wide as the distance from Al-Jabiyah to Sana'a ."

So it isn't the case that only martyrs get the virgins, but the only way to get the virgins is to get to heaven, and Qu'ran is quite specific that the only way to be certain of getting to heaven is to die in Jihad

Makes life seem less worthy of living if you have that waiting for you now doesn't it?

Nay, you are mortals from among those whom He has created, He forgives whom He pleases and chastises whom He pleases; and Allah's is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and to Him is the eventual coming.

<5.32> For this reason did We prescribe to the children of Israel that whoever slays a soul, unless it be for manslaughter or for mischief in the land, it is as though he slew all men; and whoever keeps it alive, it is as though he kept alive all men; and certainly Our apostles came to them with clear arguments, but even after that many of them certainly act extravagantly in the land.

<5.33> The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His apostle and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement.

<9.5> : So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters
wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in
wait for them in every ambush,then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay
the poor-rate, leave their way free to them;surely Allah is Forgiving,
Merciful.

<9.29> : Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor
do they prohibit what Allah and His Apostle have prohibited, nor follow the
religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay
the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of
subjection.

<9.30>: And the Jews say: Uzair is the son of Allah; and the
Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of
their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may
Allah destroy them; how they are turned away! From the ΠHadithΠ, a body of
traditions relating to Mohammed and now supplemental to the Koran: He (Abu
Hurayah) reported the messenger of Allah as saying: The last hour will not
come before the Muslims fight the Jews and the Muslims kill them, so that
Jews will hide behind stones and trees and the Stone and the tree will say,
O Muslim, O servant of God! There is a Jew behind me; come and kill him.
The only exception will be the box-thorn for it is one of the trees of the
Jews.

Even the Tafsir al Imamayn al-Jalalayn,by Jalal al-Din al Mahalli and Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti (a great read I must add) identifies Jews as hated because they knew the truth and turned away and Christians as misguided because they did not know the truth and all are in need of conversion.


It truly does provide a framework for the mess we have going on today now doesn't it?
