One of the founders of Code Pink has gone a month before without eating, only drinking water. I imagine Mr. Gregory has done the same, though I haven't looked him up yet. Cindy has committed to being a "long-termer" aka hunger striker as well. There are the names of several others at the link, but you have to look around a bit.

I said the same as you a couple of days ago, and felt like a horse's pattottie when I read the link and realized it was a bit more than the OP was indicating. I will grant you, it sounds pretty lightweight if all you read is the OP. But go to the links and see for yourself. It looks like it's a bit more than a 24-hour mini fast symbolic thing, at least for several of the participants.

I couldn't do 30 days or more. Hey, I'd be skinny, and that would be a plus, but no, I need to keep the household running. So I'll try to do the 24-hour fast in solidarity for those who are going to do more.

But make no mistake, it appears that there are those who WILL be doing, and have done, more than a "rolling" fast.
