and by that I mean the non combatants, the women and children who have no say in what is happening. The loss of children, of brothers and husbands, the loss of limbs, the exposure to depleted uranium... and we don't even consider their lives important enough to count.

A number can reduce things, but the lack of a number makes it easier to deny the horrible things that are happening.
