42. At that time the Bush family name meant nothing
in Texas. HIS FAMILY IS ONE OF CONNECTICUT YANKEE BLUEBLOODS VIA OHIO.

Yes, his grandfather was a US Senator- from Connecticut. GW Bush was born in New Haven and attended Andover, Yale and Harvard. He's only used and abused the state of Texas when it was convenient for him, not to develop any real and lasting ties to the place. GHW Bush ran for Senate from Texas and lost. GW Bush lost his race for Congress in West Texas. It took a questionable election in which polls showed Ann Richards leading up to election day to even put him in his first elected office in this state.

Bush was not a legacy for any school in Texas since no one in his family had attended a Texas university until Jenna Bush, and even then Barbara attended Yale. The Bush family has no longstanding ties to Texas, and have only forged any loose connections over the last few decades- again, only for their convenience (ie, tax avoidance and the like).
