And he'll suddenly see the light when he's dying of cancer or kidney failure or some such thing, in another 20 or 30 years, he'll call a few of the people he's screwed, whose reputations he's ruined, whose careers and futures he's destroyed, and make some last-minute apology like that'll make it all better. LONG after the damage has been done and there's no way to recover. THEN he'll start saying he's sorry, when he feels the Grim Reaper's cold breath on the back of his neck, and there's no more time to go out and make public amends like the 12-Step program says you need to do to make any such apology count for something. As we say around my house - "that and a dime will get you a few minutes in a parking meter." Somehow I can't see how apologies like that have any merit because their motivation is so disingenuous. But it isn't for me to decide. Probably a good thing, too...
