Meth is a bathtub drug, meaning it can easily be made in an apartment, a motel room, a camper shell on the back of a truck. All you need are the reagents and some very basic chemistry equipment.

There is no reason in the world to risk a border crossing with a load of meth. It's made right here in a neighborhood close to you. If you're anywhere in flyover country, it may be your next door neighbor cooking it up and that's why you keep smelling acetone on the breeze.
