Reply #39: The Colbert Report took some getting used to for me

It becomes a lot funnier when you realize he's doing a fine parody of Bill O'Reilly. That said, what Colbert did last night far outranked anything he's ever done on his show and the reason people are going ga-ga about it is because it was pretty damn clear he did his schtick not so much for the laughs but for the truth. That's why I'm comparing it to the Jon Stewart moment on Crossfire. It was the time I knew the guy was in it for the real reason, not just the laugh, and same here.

I'm afraid you're gonna have to put up with this at least for today. We have so few who stand up for us and even fewer who do it as masterfully as Colbert did last night. He deserves his 15 minutes to last a a full 24 hours.
