1. do Democrats want to win?
:kick:

Democrats in the House are fighting this year..It makes me laugh to hear Republicans in the Senate weakly defending the oil companies! I have been waiting for nearly a decade to see our party put pressure on those now in power..

People want to see pressure put on the gas companies who have no problems with hiking the gas prices, voters want to know when they will benefit from this country's sacrifices in Iraq, and they are demanding someone to challenge these tight limits on debates and votes on legislation in Congress! Republicans used to claim that only price controls and regulation caused gas prices to climb, but supply and demand would only lower them...so why hasn't this happened?

I remember when Republicans endlessly attacked the Democrats for not allowing amendments and changes on Clinton's proposed healthcare reform. I remember when Republicans attacked chairmen like Dan Rostenkowski for implementing some kind of "corrupt Congressional order" over a free debate!! They attacked Democrats for "not allowing Republicans to make amendments to the 93 budget." Now they are in power..but now only defending this kind of closed debate.

Republicans are only defending their closed order, they are defending limits on Congressional debate, and they are defending the trifecta of single party control! Democrats are finally fighting back..and this means we can win! ;)
