20. Here, the congressional seat is a lost cause
Frelinghysen is good as far as Republicans go - he was one of the Republicans who stopped the drilling in ANWR and he voted for stem cell research, but other than that he votes Republican. A good friend (a Democrat)who knows him, years ago told me he is a good person. So, he is a Republican incumbent in a Republican district with no scandals and a moderate record for a Republican - and his family has on and off been in Congress since there was one.

On the local level, there are some local issues where the Republican super-majority has rammed things through that have annoyed people. Getting at least one additional Democrat on the board will change that.

The main thing is that Menendez may need help - so it is worthwhile.
