Huge, huge news in the Democratic race for President today. News that could overshadow anything that happens in Indiana and North Carolina. Al Gore, the only true Kingmaker left in our party came out strongly in favor of the Florida and Michigan delegations being seated.

I had previously diaried that I didn't expect Gore to be public about the nomination. He has too much at stake financially. However a quiet NPR interview did the trick. Don't be confused about the timing of this. It is a clear shot across the bow. Al Gore wants Florida and Michigan seated. And I'm willing to bet that about 90% of the people on here (myself included) support Al Gore more than they support Hillary Clinton OR Barack Obama. What Gore says carries a lot of weight in my book.

Gore had an election stolen from him. He knows about the importance of Democracy more than any other politician in America. And when he supports Florida and Michigan being sat, even the most ardent Obama supporter should listen to him. Simply put, Al Gore is the most persuasive authority out there in our party. And with Michigan and Florida seated, this is a tied up race boys and girls. Obama's delegate lead is about 11 votes. Hillary can make that up in West Virginia and Kentucky. Talk about coming down to the wire.

UPDATE--I do not make a claim that Gore supports a particular way of seating the delegates, though I maintain my contention that announcing this today is very meaningful.
