I had my old tuxedo cat, Oreo put to sleep yesterday. Poor Ore's, as we called him has had many problems over the years with urinary tract infections. I feel so guilty, as I knew that he was getting another one and didn't take him to the vet promptly, as I quite frankly didn't have the money. When we got him in a day later, he was in pretty bad shape and possibly suffering from kidney failure already.

I guess that I should look at it that I saved him from a kill shelter when he was eight years old and gave him seven years of happiness. I could have spent $500 that I didn't have to prolong his life.

The vets office has a new thing though, which I found really neat- they make a clay cast of his pawprint for you to take home and bake as a momento, similar to those of a childs footprint.
