I can't make TurboTax2008 run on my computer....

I bought and installed this a month ago and what TurboTax does is time out and will not load.
I am scrounging on their support site for ideas.


I had a malware attack right after Chrstmas so I don't know if the repair job has any impact...so far most of my installed programs are hosed when I reinstalled them....

I have Win XP with admin rights.

The things I've done were per the Intuit support site, to get TT to load.
Repaired the .NET framework
Disabled my antivirus
Changed the fonts Intuit suggested
Copied the CD to my desktop, the setup won't work

I even have admin rights to the computer I use-- but I can't even remove the program from Control Panel from "Add and Remove Programs"

Here are the other possibilities I have not tried yet
Remove/replace the .NET framework
Repair the registry (last resort)
Force an uninstall (manually) and reinstall

I was wondering if any xp savvy DU'ers could offer a hand. Thanks....
