1. Symantec software is a red flag for me
they are known resource hogs. One other thing you can check is your start up list. I will give you the path to check it, If you already know how I apologize.
You can check it by clicking start
Click RUN
type in msconfig click OK
click startup.
This will show some of what is running at startup.
I have my antivirus checked, firewall, system tray, and scanregistry thats all and my computer runs great. Every program wants on this list at startup and it is not needed.
