We named them Lena and Nena. Our local veg society (now defunct) bought them from a local farmer who was furious when he discovered our plans for them, and said he would never have sold them to us had he known. We shared our Thanksgiving dinner with them, and afterward took them to the Fund for Animals' Black Beauty Ranch, where they lived out their natural lives (which proved not to be terribly long, given their obesity and other problems poultry are bred with). That was the best Thanksging ever.
