14. Thank you! The whole point of "pro-choice" IMHO is non-governmental
mandate. Whether one believes it's morally wrong, murder, fine with restrictions, should be completely unrestricted, etc., etc., etc., the whole point (to me) is surrendering the "decision" to the government.

I've known people who've chosen to have an abortion, and I've know people who have chosen to give birth. Those that have given birth have both chosen to give up the child and others have chosen to keep the child.

Myself...I was raped at 19 and, particularly with the ongoing argument about abortion, I've thought many times about what I would have done if I had become pregnant. It scares the crap out of me to think that the Government would be mandating this very personal, private circumstance.

Every 'pro-life' individual should think very long and hard about putting the reproductive process into the hands of the Government. Government can change or alter it's mind.

For the 'pro-life', just imagine abortion is outlawed. It is now illegal and there is no doubt: it is in the hands of the Government. Now, imagine it's 50 or 75 years later. There has been a population explosion of unimaginable proportions or maybe AIDS is almost completely eradicated...except for a handful of carriers (some female). The Government determines that it is in the best interests of the state (and National Security) that abortions be performed on women who X,Y,Z. What then? "Society" decided long ago that this should be put in the hands of the Government.

Also, what of the incestuous pregnancies? Rape? Are you willing to pay any consequences that come with mandating those instances (more taxes, possibly mental healthcare for both the woman and the child)?

No...Keep it out of the control of the Government. I've said this again, and again, and again, and again. Just think China.
