20. USC usually plays tough out of conference
They just played Ohio State at home then away. Before that they did a home and away match-up with Arkansas and Nebraska, and the year they blew out Arkansas lost to Florida in the SEC Championship game of 2006.

They also have to play Notre Dame every year(rivalry). It's not USC's fault Notre Dame, one of the winning-est programs in history turned into the mess it is today.

They only have 3 games to schedule non-conference opponent because like every other Pac-10 team they play 9 conference games, in other words every Pac-10 team.
