He pitches a solid eight innings on less than 90 pitches, thereby avoiding the need to bring in the bullpen (who would have inevitably ceded 8 or 9 runs), but the offense can't get more than 3 hits off the number 5 starter in the Rays rotation. What a fucking joke.
In his last 47 starts he has an ERA of 2.07, yet the team is only 22-25 in those games. What's the point of having one of the best pitchers in the game on your team if you don't capitalize on the opportunities he gives you.
Put the guy on a team where the owner gives a shit, where the GM and manager have at least a basic understanding of the game, and where more than half the team doesn't really belong in AAA or AA, and he'd be helping them win a World Series.
It's a fucking shame.
