Father Patrick Desbois invited an audience at Seton Hall University Sunday to support his efforts to uncover the secret mass graves of Jews murdered during World War II ... They have already uncovered the mass graves of some 1.5 million Ukrainian Jews murdered by German forces during World War II ..

“The Nazis established a rule: one bullet, one Jew — one Jew, one bullet.” Those who were not killed by the single gunshot would be buried alive with those who were dead. “It took me a long time to understand,” said the priest.

Each time Desbois and his assistants arrived in a village, they approached elderly people “very discreetly.” Then an interpreter would “raise the same question: ‘You were here during the war?’ If they say ‘yes,’ we say, ‘Surely you can help us’ ...
