16. Actually, "Basterds" - an intentionally unrealistic movie, does
deal with the soldier's perspective. The Nazi hero sniper, when confronted with his exploits onscreen, is more sickened than exalted by his killing. Meanwhile, his Nazi bosses, portrayed as comic books figures, are laughing their asses off at the killing -- which is, again, a statement of those who fight, and those who don't. Maybe you were in the lobby getting popcorn and missed the movie's point here. Which, ironically, are YOUR points as well.
