like the areas of England where Nick Clegg was expected to do well were (Surprise! surprise!) The same areas where there were not enough machinery or ballots.

Then the British Talking Heads say in deadpan manner: the expected strength of candidate Nick Clegg never came about "because apparently..." -- huge number of reasons, none of them related to the faulty machinery, the long lines, the people turned away.
