...that the "advice and consent" duty of the Senate is very important, and is NOT a ceremonial function, nor intended to enhance the President's inauguration festivities. Very pointed remarks by Byrd.

And that great old Consitutional scholar--our modern day Thomas Jefferson--VOTED AGAINST THIS HEINOUS APPOINTMENT on the CONSITUTIONAL GROUNDS that the President DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO DECLARE WAR, and Rice devised the "doctrine" that he does.

What a great speech Byrd gave!
