I just sent the following e-mail to the major news networks:
Why is it that the media will put all of its energy into the Scott Peterson trial, which was based on circumstantial evidence, yet ignore the hard evidence surrounding voting fraud involving the same presidential candidate for the second election? Isn't our democracy worthy of the same prominent, diligent, round-the-clock reporting as a murder trial?
Please read the following excerpts from an online article about the voting irregularities in Ohio:
Startling new revelations highlight rare Congressional hearings on Ohio vote

December 13, 2004
Startling new revelations about Ohio's presidential vote have been uncovered as Democratic members of the House Judiciary Committee join Rev. Jesse Jackson in Columbus, the state capital, on Monday, Dec. 13, to hold a rare field hearing into election malfeasance and manipulation in the 2004 vote. The Congressional delegation will include Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), Rep. Stephanie Tubbs-Jones, and others.
"Taken together, the revelations show Republicans – in state and county government, and in the Ohio Republican Party – were determined to undermine and suppress Democratic turnout by a wide variety of methods." Read more here:
http://www.freepress.org/departments/display/19/2004/985My hope is that this administration's corruption doesn't go as deep as the media's involvement & collusion with their dirty business. I cannot believe the election fraud is being ignored while we are spoonfed tidbits of titillating information about a "sensational" murder trial 24/7 for over a year. What's going on with the media? Don't you recognize the gross disparity between these two issues? Enough dumbed-down, diversionary stories -- start caring about our democracy, please!
