one person who knew that there was even a recount going on. The whole issue is getting no coverage so people don't know until I tell them. Believe me they would care but they simply don't know. That's equates to a collossal failure on the part of the Dem Party. They should at least make people aware that there are concerns.
I can tell you for sure, the Dems have lost a lot of support by Kerry's weak ass concession. Most people I tell say that it's over because he conceded. I tell them that a concession isn't legally binding and tha thtere still is a chance but they don't believe it. The local media has done a great job of dispelling any hope. The local churches are a bunch of weak greedy followers more concerned with getting thier government checks than caring for thier flock. You know, I almost think it's going to take another 4 years of the shrub to wake these people up.
As for Kerry, Fuck Him. Even though they threw my vote in the trash, I feel like I wasted a vote. I wish I had voted for Bardinik. At least, he has a fucking spine. I have been waiting and waiting for Kerry to stand up and do something, anything to offer some kind of resistance. These people aren't going to do anything as long as he sits on his rich pampered ass and does nothing. Some fucking hero. He doesn't deserve to be President. If he won't fight for it, and I mean stand up and go toe to toe like anyone of you would do, he doesn't deserve it. He hopes to run again in 2008? Maybe if he hadn't run away in 2004, we could talk about 2008. I am so disgusted and the people I talk to everyday are so disgusted. There isn't one person whose surprised that Bush stole it again. What they're surprised at is that Kerry chickened out. I have been a big supporter of the idea that Kerry was fighting behind the scenes but time has long past that that sort of tactic will yeild any results. He isn't fighting folks. I bet he would though if he thought people were going to turn against him if he didn't. Maybe not. Maybe he's just a spoiled little rich fuck and that the young man who fought so hard to end the Vietnam war, sold out. IT is beginning to look that way. Do you think the Young Kerry would just sit back and let others fight his battles for him or would he stand up and lead the fight? The Old Kerry is sitting back. You can support him if you wish but as the days go on you're going to have to ask yourself if he sold out. I think it's a fair question.
Anyway, that's the buzz from the streets of Cleveland, though you can't even hear a dull hum.
Sincerely, Michael Lewis
