1. Try the isle of skye
I don't do cathedrals... hadrians wall is quite interesting.... as
it is a lovely land-area. Orkney is breathtaking, and some of the
oldest human buildings in the UK are thereabouts.

Off the beaten track, can be nice. It depends if you're driving or
just using public transit.
