The group is purposely secret as it identifies Pro-Israel supporters in the Canada and then gives them money and support regardless of which party it is...just like AIPAC.
The difference is that CJPAC was invented last year and is identified as the lobbying arm of UIAFC (United Israel Appeal Federations Canada)....which itself was part of the Israel's hasbara project.
Essentially it's the efforts of a foreign government to influence and undermine western democracies secretly through money, threat and intimidation, so that those countries will support the continued expansion of the State of Israel.
Of course we are suppose to think this is just a very small wealthy group of ethnic minorities simply pursuing their rights and freedom under Canada's cultural mosiac the same way Ukrainians or Sikhs or Tamils or Tibetans are inclined to do...which of course is the correct view as you would be accused of 'anti-semitism' and using historical Jewish stereotypes if you suggest the other. Mind you the Jewish community in Canada doesn't seem to care that it's actions might lend itself to this view, just like they seemed rather quiet when the NP under David Asper shockingly used imagery from the Holocaust for obscene political purposes to help float a fabricated story about Iran a few months ago. Traditionally the community WAS sensitive about that stuff -- but I think we can all see by now that there is no endless shortage of people in that community that will use some of the most repellent racist views to promote their agendas for Israel.
Yeah...It's blatant...there was this more recent article published around the net from April (updated)...when the Community was raising money, shoring up support and feting politicians in anticipation of Likud's attacks on Gaza and Lebanon.
Public Contempt for Palestinians and Lebanese: Israeli aggression receives official Canadian endorsementFlanked by armed Israeli soldiers and other supportive delegates, Yossi Tanuri, the United Israel Appeal Federations Canada (UIAFC) representative to Israel, addressed the Toronto crowd. Tanuri had an audience of nearly 2,000 people in the auditorium of the Toronto Centre for the Arts, and an overflow crowd of thousands more gathered in Mel Lastman Square. The rally, held on July 26 under the slogan "Stand with Israel," was organized jointly by the Canada-Israel Committee (CIC), the Ontario Region of the Canadian Jewish Congress (CJC), and the United Jewish Appeal (UJA) Federation of Greater Toronto - all of which operate under the UIAFC umbrella. It was therefore with a sense of self-congratulations that Tanuri declared to the rally that "the UJA Federation has long been the air force of the Jewish world."
Tanuri was speaking to the crowd by
live video feed from a northern Israeli military outpost near the border settlement of Metula. Speeches from the Israeli side were punctuated by the sound of explosions. This, explained Tanuri, was the noise of artillery fire coming from a nearby Israeli battalion, helping to bring the bombardment of southern Lebanon into its 14th day. In a comment about the military situation which was rare in its honesty, Tanuri remarked that "this is what people here are going through."
....
The projected sum that will be raised in Toronto is $20 million, part of a North-America-wide campaign aimed at raising $300 million - "a floor, not a ceiling," according to one official spokesperson. The purpose of the effort is spelled out in an Israel Emergency Campaign ad printed in the August 10 issue of the Canadian Jewish News. The ad includes a personal note from Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Olmert writes that he is confident that Toronto's UIAFC powerhouses will come through with support for his government, since "United Israel Appeal of Canada and UJA Federation of Greater Toronto have long been staunch partners in the Zionist enterprise."
Regarding the need for funds around this particular military deployment, Olmert explains that "unexpected conflict has led to a major increase in defence spending," and those loyal to Israeli operations need to step up to defray the costs. Rabbi Michael Lerner of the U.S. Jewish Magazine Tikkun was understating the point when he remarked that "Donations to the
federation at this point are simply a 'yes' vote to continued Israeli militarism."
Axis of Logic ... which BTW is a very good progressive site for activist news and reports
Now...yes you read it right...some of Canada's richest and most well-connected citizens are being addressed from Israel on the need to kill Arab children for Greater Israel.
Note these are the same people that have run the government for decades and insist that Canada's role in the world is that of peacekeeper, but nonetheless, don't seem to object to fascistic presentations of armed troops flaking speakers who are raising money for a foreign army and it's occupation. Of course that is illegal just as it is illegal for Hillel to be actively recruiting soldiers for a foreign army that may very well be the same people that KILLED our citizens...
But in the creepy world of international Zionism --anything goes.
As far as your site...they link to their Aussie cousins who, if you go there, have right on their front page an article that accepts the Protocols of the Elders of Zion as a historical document...while other than the retarded and 'front' groups, the Protocols are an offensive racist forgery that few, even the ultra-right, every look to for 'truthiness'.
