My brother went to UT and got his undergraduate degree in business. UT and Austin are both renowned for the quality of education and of life. Probably the most liberal place in Texas, though there are many more liberals here in Houston. NOT the suburbs.

It would be awfully hard to choose between UT and Rice (should that be an option he can pursue), but Rice ought to win that choice.

Can't really say about the Metroplex schools; our bastions of liberalism have been steadily eroding statewide, as everyone knows.
